The helmet shell exterior shows spots, scratches, and areas of rust, with similar areas of rust on the interior. The shell has multiple battle damage holes in the top rear and on the lower right side. The helmet is lacking the liner and the chin strap. The interior of the helmet left side bears the marking of “G 62”, reflecting a size 62 shell that was manufactured by the firm of Gebrüder Gnüchtel A.G.
