The bayonet has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 27 inches, with a blade length of approximately 20 1/2 inches. The ricasso is marked with the knight’s helmet logo of the WKC firm. Approximately 12 inches of the blade is etched on each side, with the spine etched as well. The blade is etched on one side with the designation of “#. Infant. Rgt. Prinz Carl von Bayern”, while the opposite side is etched with decorative designs and the Bavarian motto of “In Treue Fest. The blade is bright with some minor scratches. The pommel shows some minor speckling to the plating. The wood grip plates are without cracks or chips. The leather scabbard is torn near the upper end and the upper scabbard fitting is missing.
