Imperial German Kriegsmarine Officer Sword Guard/Grip Candlesticks

Two Imperial German lion head Kriegsmarine officer swords were cut below the guard, approximately 1 1/2 inches into the length of the sword blades. The grips were inverted and brass bases affixed to the tops of the lion head pommels while candle holders were attached to the blade segments. The pieces exhibit a darker uncleaned patina. Interestingly, while the guards show the Kriegsmarine anchor while each of the lion heads have two red glass eyes.
