1916 Dated Imperial German Model M1898/05 Butcher Blade Bayonet by Carl Eickhorn with Frog and Knot
$43.74
$85.73
A later pattern example of the bayonet, with flash guard on the top of the grip and reflecting removal of the muzzle ring. The blade is generally clean, with typical mossy spots and scratches. The ricasso is maker marked by the Carl Eickhorn firm. The spine bears the Imperial German cypher and the date of “16”. The grip plates show use and age toning, but they are without damage. The scabbard is a leather example, being a bit dry and with some slight shrinkage having occurred and resulted in some protrusion of the bayonet hilt from the scabbard when sheathed. The scabbard is complete and intact. The black leather frog exhibits age and use, but it is complete and intact. The knot tied around the frog shows surface soiling, but it too is intact. Overall the set is in very good field used condition.
