WWII Japanese Late War Type 95 NCO Sword by Nagoya Arsenal with Wooden Scabbard

The sword has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 40 inches, with a blade length of approximately 26 inches. The blade shows spots, scratches, and surface grime, but it is generally quite clean. The blade is numbered “300207”, positioned to be read with the cutting edge of the blade facing upwards, indicating production by the Nagoya Arsenal. The cutting edge has a few tiny nicks near the collar. The wooden scabbard is unnumbered. The tsuba guard is the plain solid iron variety. The long wood grip has a crack which runs the length of the grip on both sides. The wooden scabbard with metal upper mount shows typical wear to the painted finish from use in the field, with chips, gouges, and abrasions, but the scabbard is intact. Overall the sword is in good field used condition.
