Cased WWII Japanese Army Cigarette Case and Ashtray Desk Set

The case is approximately 7-1/2 inches wide by 6-1/2 inches deep by 3 inches tall. The desk set is comprised of an ashtray which is covered by a small green metal Japanese Army helmet. The cigarette box has a small shin gunto sword on the lid. Within the box are eight Japanese cigarettes bearing a gold chrysanthemum design.There is also a small magazine of five bullets which are a part of the design. The set shows some loss of the nickel plating, primarily on the lid of the box. Interestingly, the base is marked “Made in Japan” in English, indicating that the set was properly marked for possible export purposes. The cased set is in very good condition and it makes an impressive appearance.
