The blue wool tunic bears the collar tabs of a Lieutenant of the Medical Branch of the Japanese Navy, with corresponding rank braid on the sleeves cuffs. On the upper left breast is a thread loop for the wear of a medal bar or ribbon bar. The interior retains a tailor’s label. The blue wool tunic is very clean, without holes, damage or repairs. The matching blue wool overcoat carries the slip on shoulder boards of a Japanese Navy Medical Lieutenant. The interior has an affixed leather strip to protect the interior and the officer’s uniform from damage due to the wearing of a sword. A tailor’s label remains inside of the overcoat, as well as an embroidered tag which bears the officer’s name of “Sakamoto”. The overcoat has a few holes, with a hole in the lower rear skirt tht is approximately 3/4 of an inch in diameter. Overall the set is in very good condition.
