WWII Japanese Company Level NCO Staff Duty Armband with Kanji

The cotton armband is multi piece construction, showing minor age toning but overall quite clean and in very good condition. On the interior is handwritten kanji for “ren”, most likely short for “Kunren”, which can mean “training”, “drill”, or “discipline”. The two red bands indicated an NCO on staff duty at the company level, with three bands indicating the regimental level.
